Articulated study models – impressions taken of your mouth and mounted to assess the function of your bite and aid treatment planning (click for example)
Diagnostic wax-up – information is gathered from the patient’s desires, patients clinical photographs and from the dentist’s proposed treatment plan. This allows the technician to use their expertise and artistic ability to create a wax-up as a starting point for the patient’s new smile (click for example)
In many cases the diagnostic wax-up can be used to provide a putty guide to transfer the proposed new smile directly into the patient’s mouth for the patient to ‘trial the smile’. This is done without any irreversible affects to the patients teeth (click for example)
If a patient is happy with the proposed changes the treatment can begin to create their new smile
