Cfast guest blog
18/04/2013 by Dental DesignHi my name is Marcus and I’ve just embarked on a Cfast cosmetic braces course with Dentistry 68 and I am going to keep track of my progress in a monthly blog.
As I have grown older, I have become more conscious of my teeth and realised I wanted to have them straightened. I never had braces as a child but over the last 10 years my teeth have become more crooked so I thought it was about time to do something about it!
A couple of weeks ago, Richie Morgan (my Dentist) took my bite/teeth impressions to be sent off to the lab and when Cfast kit arrived he booked me in to get my braces fitted. On Tuesday, I arrived slightly nervous at the practice to get the braces put on, but the procedure was fine! Richie and the dental nurse dried my teeth and applied the glue and attached the brackets then cured it so they stuck. Once the brackets were all fitted, it was just a case of threading the wire through each. It takes about an hour for 2 arches but it was completely painless!
I’ve had the braces on now for a few days and my teeth were a bit tender at first (this means that it is working!) But they have definitely settled down now and I’m feeling a lot more used to having them in my month. Some people do claim that the brackets can irritate the insides of the cheek but I haven’t had any problems like that luckily.
Here’s hoping the next few months go quickly – can’t wait to show of my smile!
