We are welcoming back our patients with new safety procedures
07/08/2020 by Dental DesignHere at Dentistry@68, our philosophy has always been to deliver comprehensive dental care combined with sound principles and innovative dental techniques, equipment and materials. We provide this in a caring, supportive environment by our motivated, dedicated team.
Throughout these challenging times, we have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to create our new Covid-safe procedures in our dental practice in Poole. This work has enabled us to open our doors safely again. We are continuously monitoring government guidelines as well as the latest information from the General Dental Council. This monitoring ensures your safety as well as the safety of our team. Here are a few of the changes you will see when you attend your next dental appointment.
Before your appointment
A member of our team will call you before your appointment and screen you for any Covid – 19 symptoms. A phone payment can also be made for your treatment prior to your visit to minimise contact. Please brush your teeth at home and use your lavatory as the facilities at the practice will only be used in emergencies.
Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your appointment time and only bring essential items with you. Please also attend alone unless it is necessary to have somebody with you.
On arrival at the practice
Please text the practice on 07938 711 160 to let us know you have arrived. If you are unable to text, you can knock on the window. We will let you know when it is your turn to enter the practice. Your temperature will be taken on entry by a non-contact thermometer. We will ask you to use some hand sanitiser and put on a face mask, which we will provide. We have new protective screens fitted, but they are still the same friendly faces behind the Perspex and the masks!
Please keep a social distance whilst in the practice. We are using floor stickers and signs to help you with this. Once your dentist is ready for you, a staff member will take you through to the treatment room. The waiting room comprises socially distanced chairs, and we have a family waiting room for those people attending with children.
All magazines have been removed to keep us all safe. We will also be decontaminating in all areas throughout the day. Also, our staff will be wearing the appropriate PPE.
Extra safety precautions
We have fitted new air filtration systems, and each surgery has its own PPE washing bin with the PPE being changed between each patient. All our staff are screened daily for Covid-19 before they start work. We have also staggered our start times and lunch breaks to maintain social distancing between staff.
We have invested in special decontamination equipment, which we use between every patient to create a safe, virus-free environment.
It has been a tough few months for us all. Although we have always been on hand to offer advice and dental expertise by phone or email, we have found it distressing not to be able to provide help to our patients in person.
We look forward to seeing you again and welcoming you back through our doors. You can be safe in the knowledge that we have done everything possible to keep you and our staff safe while you visit.
From all of us at Dentistry@68
