Dermal filler treatment
Small amounts of dermal filler gel are injected directly into your skin using an ultrafine needle.
Instant results
Dermal fillers work instantly, so you can see the results straight away. Our policy is to give you a natural, subtly enhanced look.
Dermal fillers are a very popular aesthetic treatment, designed to restore elasticity and volume to plump the skin and smooth lines and wrinkles. When injected into specific areas of the skin, fillers provide a hydrating effect, tackling saggy and dull skin that can occur as we age. Dermal filler treatment takes just a short appointment, and can be used effectively on areas including the lips, lines around the nose and mouth, and cheeks.
At Dentistry@68, we also offer Ellansé fillers. As well as correcting visible wrinkles and folds in your skin, the unique properties of Ellansé work to stimulate your natural collagen production to really treat the underlying causes of facial ageing. In this personalised treatment, we can help you achieve a natural and fresh look, revitalising and firming your skin. Ellansé gives long lasting results for a more youthful appearance.

Find out moreTreatment with dermal fillers shouldn’t hurt. Most fillers include an added anaesthetic, meaning the treatment is virtually pain-free. We can also use topical local anaesthetic to minimise your discomfort as we administer the dermal filler with ultrafine needles. After treatment, you may experience some tenderness around the affected area, but this is temporary.
Yes, when regulated dermal filler treatment is carried out by a qualified professional, it is completely safe. We are dedicated to providing the very best care, in a clean and safe environment, to deliver the results you deserve. We make sure you are aware of the procedure before we begin, give you the chance to ask any questions and gain your consent to continue.
The cost of your dermal filler treatment depends on which areas you are having treated, how many filler injections you need and the type of filler used. We will let you know a cost for your tailored dermal filler treatment during your consultation.
As dentists, we have an extended knowledge of facial anatomy and extensive experience in various injecting techniques. We are therefore well placed to look after your skin as well as your teeth. We operate under the strict guidelines of the British Dental Association and the Care Quality Commission, and we have the optimum standards of cleanliness and hygiene across our practice. You are in safe hands.
Your results from dermal fillers should last between 4 and 13 months, depending on the type of filler used and where on the face it was placed. The effects fade gradually over time, but can be maintained with regular top up treatments, at intervals advised by your clinician. If you decide not to continue with the top ups, the filler gel will biodegrade in the skin and simply disappear.
There will be some redness, tenderness and swelling around the treated area immediately after the injection. You might also feel an itching sensation. All side effects should subside after a couple of hours.
